Joomla! Day Boston 2013 in retrospect

Robbie Adair - Joomla Day Boston Speaker

Robbie Adair - Joomla Day Boston SpeakerI totally enjoyed speaking at Joomla! Day Boston! It truly was a fantastic event and was so well organized, you wouldn’t have guessed it was the inaugural year. I also had the opportunity to attend Jessica Dunbar, Nicole Ouellette, and Luke Summerfield‘s sessions, they all did a great job.

Dianne Henning, the event organizer extraordinaire, started the day off and then Paul Orwig, President of OSM, delivered a cool talk on the future plans for Joomla and the community. He used an African proverb to support his message, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” During lunch, Elin Waring went over the new features of Joomla 3.x, going into detail on the new tags. David Hurley, Joomla! Community Manager, wrapped up the event with a surprising sneak preview of some of the milestones being set for the future of Joomla development.

Thanks again to Joomla! Day Boston for selecting me to speak and thanks to Siteground for sponsoring my talk!

For the people that asked for my slideshow, you can view it here.  It is the slides only, not the live demos.
